smile healthy. Every one wants healthy and bright smiler . We should have to know about our mouth ,teeths and ways to keep smile always healthy. Healthy smile can be a first impression of yours.
Because of our unhealthy smile and poor oral hygien we can suffer from
various serious problems like gum bleeding, ulcer, plague etc and we can also loose our confidence level. So for better life oral hygien is also one of the important part and for that we should know about oral hygien and have to overcome with various problems related with it.









Now firstly we should know about what is oral health?

oral health is a state of being free from mouth and facial pain, oral cancer, birth defects like cleft lip and palate, tooth decay, tooth loss andother disorders of oral cavity.
According to WHO in 1982 oral health as “the retention throughout life
of a functional, aesthetic and natural dentition of not less 20 teeth andnot requiring prosthesis.



Mouth is the window into the health of your body. It shows signs of nutritional deficiency or general infection, systemic diseases that
effect the entire body, may first become apparent because of mouth
lesion and other oral problems. An individual may be considered
as healthy if he/she has no caries or periodontal disease.

peoples are not aware of oral health problems and other problems related to it.
Generally people does not visit to a dentist in common disease like tooth pain . They goto chemist or medical practitioner and they use some home remedies. But there are many serious problems related with oral cavity . People are not having knowledge about oral health problems and diseases . In India most of the people does not brush daily, some people still brushes with fingers and brick powder and neem sticks in which some are really harmfull for oral cavity. In rural areas people never went to dentist and they not even know about the problems in oral cavity. Now in 21st century also people are using brick powder and neem sticks for brushing in rural areas. About half of popullation does not use toothpaste and tooth brush for brushing teeth and 51% popullation brush their teeth with toothpaste and tooth brush. Nearly 28% people brush their teeth twice and 34% people believe in brushing teeth once a day.

Moreover 65 % people have no idea that eating habits can cause dental problems.
Lack of awareness is a serious issue in india specially in rural areas. only handfull of people across the country takes oral healthcare seriously.for the most part indians only approach to a dentist when faced with serious problems or after reaching 40.









Oral health is very important because digestive system begins from mouth and mouth is only place from where we can keep bacteria out by keeping it clean. People generally do not understant intimate connection batween oral health and overall health.

Oral health is most important but people take it for granted. Periodontitist patient can also have a high risk of coronary artery because bacteria can enter into blood stream while brushing and chewing which cause formation of clot in the arteries leads to heartattack.

Basic things to do for maintaining oral health
  • firstly you should brush your teeth regulary twice a day.
  • Keep your equipment clean.
  • Use floss for interdental space .
  • Use floride toothpaste.
  • Use soft bristle brush.
  • Use of mouth washes and rinses which prevents germs.
  • Use sugar free chewing gums after meal.
  • Regular evaluation of our own mouth .
  • Improve food habits.
  • Regular visit for dental check up.

Proper brushings takes 2 mins means 120 second. Do not rush while brushing. Brush your teeth smoothly.
Use soft bristle brush and keep it clean. After using your tooth brush keep it in upright position and keep it in the place where it can dry before you use it again.
You should change your tooth brush when it begins to show wear or every 3 months.
Do not use others tooth brush it can cause infection and its not good for health.
One should brush our teeth twice a day.

                                    Flossing techniques



Flossing is very important because you can't reach the tight space between your teeth or under gumline through brush.
One should floss their teeth daily.
